What an idea! Here's the list of "Actual Winners" and "Alternate Reality Winner" of the Nobel Prize in Literature from 1901 to present. Sometimes thay match each other, many times they don't. This year the prize goes to American novelist Don DeLillo.

The fellows from the alternate universe seem to be rather snobby as
well. So, according to them, Camus and Beckett are irreplaceable? And
let's face it, Kerouac and Kundera both suck to high heaven; it's
literature for compulsive posers.

it certainly is not a list that I would have made; nor could I have made it as I do not yet read widely enough. But there are some on the list that would make it on my own list (more than are on the official list): G.K. Chesterton, Tolkien, Verne, Twain, Ibsen, Kafka. And Rowling. You can't have Rowling on your list if you are a snob.
